Award of IGNOU Research Fellowship 2017-18

The Indira Gandhi National Open University has invited applications for the award of Research Fellowship (IGNOU-RF) to its full time students of M.Phil/ Ph.D programme in Ignou.

To become eligible for Research Fellowship, the students should fill up and submit the application form in the prescribed format complete in all respects to “Director, Research Unit CAB Building, Maidan Garhi, New Delhi-110068″ on or before 22 September 2017.

The university has announced the different schemes for its male and female students to award the Research Fellowships.The name of these two schemes has been mentioned below:

• Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Fellowship for Male Scholars
• Savitri Bai Phule Fellowship for Female Scholars

The main objective behind the award of IGNOU-Research Fellowship is to encourage the learners who are pursuing M.Phil/ Ph.D from Ignou. It will also provide some kind of financial support to them during their studies.

IGNOU Research Fellowship eligibility criteria:

Only those students are eligible for RF scheme who are already registered and pursuing M.Phil / Ph.D in Ignou on full time basis.The detailed guidelines,term and conditions and eligibility criteria can be checked in the advertisement published by the university.

Time Period of Ignou research fellowship

In case of M.Phil students,the students will be awarded the Ignou Research Fellowship for one year or till they submit the dissertation, whichever is earlier.

The students who are pursuing Ph.D from Ignou will be awarded the fellowship for three years or till the submission of the thesis, whichever is earlier.

However, time period of receiving fellowship may be extended by the university on the recommendation of Doctoral Research Committee of the concerned discipline.
