IGNOI MA English Syllabus & Courses (MEG)- For those who have a deep passion for the written word, the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) offers a comprehensive and enriching MA English program. Students have to pass out the total of 64 credits to complete the master degree in English literature offered by Indira Gandhi National Open University.

The programme has two tier structure i.e it has divided into 2 years. Students have to study the total of five compulsory core courses and three optional courses. These 3 courses have to be chosen from the pool of all available optional courses offered by the university.

The minimum duration to complete this master degree programme is two years and the maximum duration within which students can complete all the required 8 courses is five years.

It should be remembered that 1 Credit is equivalent to 30 Study Hours. For example, if any one of the Ignou MA English courses has been assigned the credit value of 8, then the maximum time student should allow for that subject is 8 x 30= 240hrs.
