The Indira Gandhi National Open University offers admission to its Master Degree programme in Development Studies (MADVS) via distance mode of learning only.The IGNOU MA Development Studies admission is offered by the university in both January and July academic cycle under the School of Extension and Development Studies (SOEDS).

Duration of programme

The minimum time provided by the university to complete the degree is 2 years and the students have been provided with the relaxation up to the maximum of 5 years.

The total fee is Rs.10,800/- for the complete programme which has to be paid @Rs.5400/- per year during the time of registration and re-registration respectively.

IGNOU MA Development Studies Online Admission

Learners can visit the Ignou online admission portal to enroll themselves in the MA Development Studies programme offered by Indira Gandhi National Open University.First of all, they should download Student Handbook & Prospectus to know more about the Master of Arts in Development studies programme.

After checking out all the required details in the prospectus, the student should register themselves on the admission portal.The students have to fill up complete academic details and also they have to upload Ignou online admission documents required to complete the process.

After completing the registration process, the learners have to log in with their correct login credentials to fill up the Ignou MA Development studies online admission form.

IGNOU MA Development Studies Prospectus

If the students are not sure about how to apply for admission online or they do not have access to the internet, then they should visit their nearest Ignou Regional Centre and obtain the prospectus by paying the fee of Rs.200/- in cash. The students can also obtain it by post as well.

The university does not provide the separate prospectus for its Master of Arts in Development Studies course whereas all the details regarding the programme are included in the Common prospectus issued by the university every year. It is also known as “Student Handbook and Prospectus”.

The university provides the Common Prospectus in only English medium for this programme. For other programmes, it is provided in both languages for the student’s convenience so that they can easily read it according to their known language.

How to Obtain IGNOU MA Development Studies Prospectus (MADVS)?

The candidates can obtain the booklet by any of three methods mentioned below without facing any difficulty:

  • The Student Handbook & Prospectus can be obtained from the nearest Regional Centre or Director, Student Service Centre(SSC), IGNOU, Maidan Garhi, New Delhi by submitting the fee of Rs.200/- in cash at regional centre sales counters.
  • The learners who do not have Regional Centre in their nearby area can request the prospectus via post by sending prospectus fee plus Rs.50/- i.e. Rs.250/- in the form of Demand Draft in the favour IGNOU payable at New Delhi to the following address: “Registrar, Student Registration Division, IGNOU, Maidan Garhi, New Delhi, 110068″.
  • The third and easy method to get the prospectus to download it from the official website of university.i.e www.ignou.ac.in. But in this case, the candidate will get the only soft copy of prospectus in the form of PDF file. For obtaining printed copy of the prospectus, the learners has to follow above two methods only.
