IGNOU MLIS Course Details 2025
The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) offers the MLIS: Master of Library and Information Science programme under the School of Social Sciences (SOSS). Designed to prepare professional human resources for the field of Library and Information Science, this degree programme is offered through the Open Distance Learning (ODL) mode.
The programme is open to learners across India in both January and July admission cycles, under the university’s “Walk-In Admission” system.
IGNOU MLIS Admission 2025
Admission to the IGNOU MLIS course is conducted through online mode only. Interested students can apply by visiting the official IGNOU admission portal: https://ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in/

- Fill the MLIS admission form online

IGNOU MLIS Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for admission to the IGNOU MLIS course, candidates must have:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Library and/or Information Science OR
- An Associateship from NISCAIR or DRTC

- Maximum Duration: 4 Years

IGNOU MLIS Hall Ticket
The university releases the IGNOU MLIS hall ticket approximately 10 days before the Term-End Examination (TEE). Students can download it from www.ignou.ac.in using their enrollment number.
In case a student does not receive the hard copy by post, they must download and print the hall ticket online.
