IGNOU MA Hindi is a postgraduate programme offered by the university in the distance education mode of learning.It’s main emphasis is on the overall aspect of Hindi literature.The course is offered by Indira Gandhi National Open University in both January and July cycle of admissions.

Hindi literature is mainly divided into four main styles or forms, being Shringar, Bhakti, Adhunik and Veer-Gatha. It is a job-oriented course, and after completion of course, candidates can find opportunities in various domains such as lecturer in college, great philosopher in any area and more.

IGNOU MA Hindi Eligibility Criteria

The learners who are interested to join this programme must possess the Bachelor’s Degree or a higher degree from a recognized University. i.e. the learners who have completed their Graduation degree in any discipline or its equivalence from a recognized university can pursue MA Hindi from Ignou.

Duration of Programme

The Ignou Master of Arts in History (MAH) programme is of 2 years duration.It means learners can obtain the master degree in Hindi only after consuming the minimum duration of 2 years and passing out all the required courses.

However, the maximum duration allowed to complete all the courses of this programme is 5 years.

IGNOU MA Hindi Fee Details

The applicants have to pay sum of Rs. 13,600/- for the complete programme. They do not need to pay the complete amount in one time. The fee has to be paid year wise @Rs.6,800/- per year.

There is no other distance learning university apart from Ignou which is offering the MHD programme at such low fee rates.

Age Limit

There is no minimum and maximum age limit for admission.Only the applicant must possess the graduation degree from recognized University.

There are total of 11 courses included in the curriculum. In both years, students have to study and pass out 32 credits each.The credit value associated with these courses is 4 or 8. It means student have to complete total of 64 credits to become eligible for the award of the Master Degree in Hindi i.e. MA Hindi.

Note: Here, 1 credit is equivalent to 30 study hours. It means students have to study minimum of 30×8 = 240 hours for the course which has 8 credits associated with it.
