IGNOU BSW Programme – Bachelor of Social Work

Ignou Bachelor of Social Work – The Indira Gandhi National Open University offers admission in BSW programme in both January and July academic cycle under the School of Social Work (SOSW). The medium of Instruction is both English and Hindi.

So, the learners who are not efficient in reading and writing in English can study this discipline in Hindi language as well.The university offers admission in Bachelor of Social Work programme to the learners in distance education mode only.

The term “Social work” refers to the various services that are performed to provide assistance to the people who are poor or who need help. The Ignou BSW is a Bachelor degree that is awarded to the learners who complete their 3 years study in the field of social work.

After completing their Bachelor Degree in Social Work, the students can go for higher studies, namely the Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) to obtain the Post Graduation Degree.

Admission Eligibility

To be eligible to get admission to this Degree programme, the applicant must be having 10+2 or its equivalent or BPP from IGNOU.

Admission Session

Learners can apply for admission in any of two academic sessions i.e. January & July.They can apply for admission via online method only.

Medium of Instruction

Students have the option to choose any of English or Hindi medium to pursue this Bachelor degree programme in Social Work

Programme Duration

The minimum time require by students to complete this programme is 3 years. However, they are free to complete it in a maximum time period of 6 years.

Fee Structure

Rs.14,400/- for the complete programme which has to be paid year wise @Rs.4,800/- per year.
